Duration of contract: Late May/ Early June - August 2023
MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL WITHIN THE USA.
MUST BE WILLING TO LIVE AT CAMP FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONTRACT.
MUST PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK TO WORK AROUND KIDS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Chefs at SCC are responsible for helping to facilitate the Camps Food Service Program. This includes the prepping, storing, and cooking of foods, ensuring that food is on-time, the correct quantity, and the quality matches SCC standards . In conjunction with the Head Chef, (s)he shall follow SCC's operational plans aligned with the culinary camp operations, uphold SCC standards, and train staff on service standards, and adhere to the standard operating procedures of SCC to deliver a high-quality experience for both staff and campers alike.
This job requires a can do, friendly, and hands on attitude, problem solving skills, and organizational prowess.
Maintain efficient communication with FSD and Head Chef.
Must complete all necessary cooking and prep in a timely manner.
Responsible for maintaining an organized and clean kitchen.
Must be able to work within a team, take direction, and delegate.
Maintain appearance and uniform standards.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approx. 10 hours.
Must be able to bend, stretch and reach for extended periods of time.
Ensures that production is accurate in timing, quantity, quality and plate up requirements.
Interact with customers on a regular basis to get feedback.
Develop and be accountable for a safe culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt.
Follow and maintain food production systems and procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving of food related products.
Responsible for helping to oversee kitchen support staff.
Ensure that requirements for appropriate sanitation and food safety levels in respective areas are met and upheld.
Responsible for checking in orders.
Attend related in-service training and staff meetings as required.
Maintaining SCC standards compliance.
In conjunction with Head Chef; coordinate and supervise unit personnel regarding production, quality and cost control, and labor management/scheduling.
Provide client management support making sure that SCC staff is delivering a friendly and trustworthy service.
Look for opportunities to improve the operation and communicate this information to the SCC team.
Keep the team motivated and enthusiastic.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous summer camp experience is highly recommended.
Previous experience in high volume quantity cooking commercial kitchen recommended.
Proven track record of utilizing and implementing company SOP and upholding company standards as well as strong communication skills.
Valid US driver’s license.
Proficient in general computer knowledge.
Strong training and communication skills.
Personable, Friendly, & Approachable.
Ability to self-motivate.

Schedule:
10 - 12 hour shift
